> Hitting > Albert Pujols Swing Analysis

I started studying hitting in 2005 in an effort to improve my older son's swing.

As part of that process, I tried to learn everything I could about what a good swing (actually) looks like. Then, because trying to teach something is the way to see if you actually understand it, I put together a flipbook  analysis of Albert Pujols' swing based on the Pujols7 clip below.

As I recount at length in my discussion of my experience with Andres Torres of the San Francisco Giants, Andres then stumbled across that flipbook. He quickly realized that what I was saying was hard to refute but was different than everything he has been taught by his professional coaches. He called me up and asked me to look at his swing and see how it was different than Albert Pujols' swing.

Using my flipbook analysis of Albert Pujols' swing -- and then my Rotational Hitting 101 DVD, which is based on my earlier analyses of Albert Pujols' swing  -- Andres Torres overhauled his swing and approach and helped the Giants win the 2010 World Series.

Since that time, my flipbook analysis of Albert Pujols' swing has become one of my most popular pieces I have written.

New & Improved Flipbooks

Over the years, I have expanded my analyses of Albert Pujols' swing into two larger and more detailed pieces.

Those pieces are based on numerous High Definition and High Speed clips that I shot of Pujols while he was playing in St. Louis.

About the Author

My highest-level client is Andres Torres of the San Francisco Giants. Using the concepts that I discuss on my Rotational Hitting 101 DVD and on my client-only web site, we worked together to revamp his swing and get him to the point where he could be successful at the major league level.

Andres isn't the only professional baseball player that I have worked with. At last count, I have three clients in the major leagues, one at AAA, several more clients in the lower levels of the affiliated minor leagues, and three clients playing for independent minor league teams and trying to get back on the road to the major leagues. I have also worked with a number of D-1 college baseball and fast pitch softball players.

I don't give out the names of these players because I don't want to get them in trouble with their coaches. While they, and I, believe in what I teach, most of the time it contradicts what their coaches are saying, so they have to keep it to themselves and we have to work on the down low.

If you are a minor leaguer and are looking for help, e-mail me and we can talk about how you can get access to my client-only web site.
