I'm Back...
I'm sorry for my prolonged absence.
I've been finishing up my new
Pitching
Mechanics 101 DVD, and it took longer than I hoped to get it
done. It contains pretty much everything I've
learned over the course of the past 10 years. I've been trying
the lessons in it out on a new batch of 3rd grade pitchers this
year just to make sure that they work (which they do).
I've also been spending a lot of time shooting High Definition
footage of some of the best major league pitchers, and while I
have to reserve some of that footage for my clients, I will also
post some of it on my public site.

Stick A Fork In Anthony Reyes
It turns out that during my hiatus Anthony Reyes' problems
finally took their toll on his arm.
While he went down with elbow problems, and has had to have
Tommy John surgery, at the end he was also dealing with velocity
problems. That suggests that he was also experiencing shoulder
problems. While the year-long layoff, while his elbow heals,
will probably also help his shoulder heal to a bit, what I
expect will happen is that he will come back, look good to great
for a while, and then go down with shoulder problems.
Of course, Tommy John surgery only works 90 percent of the time
so there is a small chance that Anthony Reyes will never come
back.
