Anthony Reyes:
A Mechanical Trainwreck

12/7/2006

Anyone who follows my work knows that I have a very low opinion of Anthony Reyes.
     I think he's a mechanical trainwreck.
Here is a sequence of images of Anthony Reyes which show that he goes from a state of Hyperabduction immediately into external rotation.
In Frame 37, Reyes' elbow is at its apex. If you compare the position of the birds on bats logo on Reyes' chest between frames 37 and 39 (particularly the PAS bird), you can see that his shoulders have started to turn. However, his PAS elbow has dropped only slightly and is still above the level of his shoulders. That causes his PAS upper arm to externally rotate especially hard which I believe will make him due for shoulder problems. I believe that Mark Prior does something similar.
