Swing Analysis - Rocco Baldelli
So I finally had a free evening to start going through my DVR
of the 2008 World Series. I started with the second half a game
five and found some really incredible footage of Rocco Baldelli
hitting a home run to left field on an inside pitch. As a
result, I just completed an
analysis of the hitting mechanics and swing of Rocco Baldelli.
This clip is interesting enough that I'm probably going to
prepare a flip book version of it. I'll let you know when it's
ready.

Do As They Do, Not As They Say
On multiple occasions, I have pointed out that many major
league hitters don't seem to understand their own swings.
In
this video, Derek Jeter makes this case for me.
Derek Jeter DEMONSTRATES a disconnected, linear, A-to-B, hands to the
ball swing in this portion of the clip...
How Derek Jeter Thinks He Swings
...and DOES a connected, rotational swing in this clip...
How Derek Jeter Actually Swings
People need to find hitting instructors who understand this difference
(which generally only comes from tons of video study, but not
even then in some cases).
